Floating House

Designed as a modular home, Floating House is situated in Seneca Lake, New York. Each section uses easily accessible materials that can be pre-fabricated and rearranged, as well as photovoltaic panels and passive systems integrated in each module. The house can be moved to different sections of the lake, deconstructed, and even reconstructed on dry land during colder months. Design inspiration for the floating mechanism as well as the overall silhouette of the house was taken from existing projects like Makoko Floating School by Adeyemi and Floating House by MOS. From there mechanical and aesthetic principles were applied to create the modular mini home.
